What the stances mean
Public commitment. The company belongs to the Second Chance Business Coalition, runs a published second-chance hiring program, or has said on its own pages that it hires people with records. It is a statement of intent, not a promise about any one application.
Reviews records case by case. The company says a record doesn't automatically rule you out and that it looks at each case.
Publishes its screening rules. Usually a gig app: it publishes what its check covers and what disqualifies, so you can see where you stand before you apply.
No published policy. We found nothing on the record. Many of these companies still hire people with records; they just haven't said so publicly.
