You can use every page here without an account and without telling us anything about yourself or your record.

Who we are
Second Chance Index (secondchanceindex.com) is operated by AI Laws By State LLC, 1309 Coffeen Ave, Ste 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801.
What we collect
- Basic server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are used to run and secure the site.
- Usage data from Google Analytics, such as the pages you view and the site that sent you. See “Cookies and analytics” below for exactly what is and isn't sent.
- Anything you email us. If you write to contact@secondchanceindex.com, we keep your message and address to reply and to check what you reported. Please don't send details about your criminal record or finances; we don't need them to fix a page.
We don't ask for or store criminal history, background reports, ChexSystems reports, bank details or Social Security numbers. Searches on the site run in your browser and aren't sent to us.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and which ones need work. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga) and sends Google the page you visit, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses. We also count a few clicks: links to an employer's careers site or a bank's sign-up page, copying a citation or embed code, and opening an email link to us.
We set it up to collect as little as possible:
- Searches stay private. We strip search terms and other query text from every address before it is sent, and nothing you type or choose in a tool on this site is sent to Google.
- No advertising features. Google signals and ad personalization are off, and we don't link the data to any ad account or assign user IDs.
- Your browser's privacy signal is respected. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics doesn't load at all.
- Kept for 14 months, then deleted by Google.
You can also block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on or any ad or tracker blocker. The site works the same either way. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. The site doesn't set advertising cookies.
Links to other sites
Employer and bank links take you to their sites, which have their own privacy policies. What you share there is between you and them.
Sharing
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who run the site for us, or when the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask us to see or delete any email you sent by writing to contact@secondchanceindex.com. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under state privacy laws; we honor those requests.
Children
The site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
We'll update this page and the date above if our practices change.
