About Second Chance Index
A record follows people into job applications and bank lobbies. The answers they find online are mostly guesses repeated from forum to forum. We built one place where every answer comes from the company itself, with the source and the date.
What we cover
- Employers: what each company has said about hiring people with records, its background check and its drug test policy.
- Bank accounts: low-cost checking accounts, including ones for people turned down before, with fees, overdraft rules and what each provider says it checks.
- Background check rights and ChexSystems, from the agencies that enforce the rules.
What we don't do
We don't run background checks, collect anyone's criminal history, or sell personal information. We aren't a law firm, a bank or a staffing agency. No company we list owns or edits this site; sponsorships and paid links are always labeled, and they never change what we publish.
